Central Kentucky

After struggling with bus troubles in Virginia, we decided to split for the south to celebrate Ty’s birthday at the Maker’s Mark Distillery. We drove overnight and arrived in Kentucky at around 5am, greeted by a scene comparable only to Mad Max, or I guess any other post-apocalyptic epic. It was a massive oil refinery decked out in flashing lights and tall flaming pillars. It was intense. We woke up at the Distillery, took an educational tour that taught us a thing or two about whiskey and started making our way north.

Heading north was cut short by several unplanned stops. The first was at a farm that we stumbled upon and discovered was the host to one of the most elaborately decorated home at Christmas time. They had over a million lights and attracted thousands of people each winter. It was crazy. The next stop was for some burgers at a place called BJ’s where we met our wild waiter Tony. Tony had a gold tooth and a badass attitude that resulted in us staying the night and hitting the town with him. We got to see Kentucky in a whole new light.

As Tyler’s birthday festivities wound down, we continued making our way north for Chicago.

Help Fund An Adventure For Good

Well folks, we are on the road! Thanks to over 200 individual and business supporters we have a beautiful bus, some functional production equipment, and enough money to get across the country on ramen, waste vegetable oil, and home-cooked meals whenever they present themselves. We can not appreciate those contributors enough: thanks to everyone who has given so far we are on the adventure of a lifetime and spreading optimism across the nation. We desperately need money for emergency situations (our bus has already broken down once), to contribute to causes across the country (we have a little...we would like a lot), and to make our trip that much healthier (greens are expensive). So check out the site, and contribute if you would like to support three young men on an Adventure for Good.
