Visit any school and have them cook a meal made of entirely local food in the cafeteria to serve at lunch. Cost of the lunch could go to a local organization (fighting childhood obesity, slow food chapter of that state, etc….. but preferably something to do with healthy/local/sustainably produced food). Try to source foods that are not only local but produced in ways that are not harmful to the environment…. sustainable, organic, biodynamic etc… For instance feed lot beef in the midwestern states would not be a good source even if it is local. Form friendships/relationships with local farmers to see if they’d be interested in helping out!
